House filings show Rep. Nicole Malliotakis reported three securities trades from early 2022 in August 2023, well past the STOCK Act's 45-day deadline

What happened
Two Periodic Transaction Reports filed with the Clerk of the House on Aug 11, 2023 (filing IDs 8219904 and 8219905) list a purchase of a Goodyear bond on Mar 7, 2022, a purchase of AT&T stock on Jan 6, 2022 and a partial sale of General Electric stock on Jan 6, 2022, each in the $1,001 to $15,000 range, each with a handwritten notification date of July 22, 2023. The STOCK Act requires members of Congress to report such transactions within 45 days of the trade, so the reports came about 17 to 19 months after the trades. The reports were filed 20 days after the notification date written on them and on the same day as her 2022 annual financial disclosure (filing ID 10053986). Raw Story reported in August 2023 that she was among lawmakers who waited until that month to report months-old trades, and that none of the congressional offices it named, including hers, responded to its requests for comment. The standard penalty is a $200 fee; the Ethics Committee does not publish who is assessed it, and no public record of a fee or committee action was found.
