What happened
The House of Commons Business and Trade Committee said in a report on March 13, 2026 that more than 11,300 claimants have received payments, with GBP 1.44 billion distributed, but that thousands of subpostmasters are still waiting for redress and 'serious structural failings persist'. It cited unacceptable delays, inadequate offers and administrative processes that 're-traumatise' people already wronged, and noted that Fujitsu has contributed nothing to the cost of redress. The Law Gazette reports the committee recommended that outstanding offers be issued and remaining claims settled and paid by the end of 2026. The Horizon Shortfall Scheme is still run by the Post Office.
