What happened
Videos released in December 2024 by businessman Albert Tei allegedly show Sabah politicians receiving bribes linked to mineral exploration licences. On 27 March 2026 eight Warisan state assemblymen submitted a memorandum to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) asking why there had been no public update since 28 November 2025, noting that only three people, including Tei, had been charged despite a dossier of more than 300 pages that they say implicates six politicians. They said the silence has fuelled speculation of political influence; several named politicians deny wrongdoing and say the recordings were edited or taken out of context.
