What happened
On 20 May 2026 the High Court rejected a petition by the AIDA network of international NGOs, saying the state may require employee lists as a registration condition and describing the rule as 'limited and proportionate'. The groups, including Doctors Without Borders, were given 30 days to comply or stop operating in Gaza and the West Bank. NGOs said sharing staff names could endanger staff; the Diaspora Affairs Ministry said the rule prevents misuse of aid channels. As of March 2026, 30 of 129 registration applications had been approved and 19 denied.
