The Washington State Public Disclosure Commission voted unanimously on July 24, 2025 to fine Rep. Shaun Scott (D-43rd District) and his committee 'The Fighting 43rd' a total of $11,000. The campaign committee was fined $10,000 for a series of violations including incomplete and inaccurate reporting and late-filed pre-general-election reports (due October 2024, not filed until March 2025, covering more than $46,000 in contributions and $33,500 in expenditures). Scott personally stipulated to a separate violation of using $756 in campaign funds for personal haircuts, resulting in a $1,000 fine. Commissioners suspended half the total penalty contingent on payment of the rest and no further violations for four years.
