Responding to public-records request SOL-TSC-539-2026, Honduras' Tribunal Superior de Cuentas (TSC) said it referred only four illicit-enrichment cases to the Ministerio Público between 2019 and 2025, involving about L92.4 million combined, with none from 2020 to 2022. The cases are a former IHSS analyst (November 2019, over L85 million), a former FHIS director (2023, over L2 million), Reitoca mayor Manuel Meza (November 2025, L1.6 million) and former San Pedro Sula municipal official Ada Esperanza Muñoz Torres (November 2025, over L3.6 million). Experts quoted by La Prensa, including ASJ's Nelson Castañeda, say the low number reflects weak oversight and call for depoliticizing oversight bodies and strengthening the TSC.
