A Senate Finance Committee report described instances of abuse and neglect in four operators' residential treatment facilities, which OPB reported often receive more than $1,200 a day per child from Medicaid
In June 2024 the Senate Finance Committee released 'Warehouses of Neglect,' the result of a two-year investigation led by then-Chairman Ron Wyden into four residential treatment operators: Universal Health Services, Acadia Healthcare, Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health and Vivant Behavioral Healthcare. The committee described instances of abuse, neglect and substandard care, and OPB (AP) reported that such facilities often receive more than $1,200 per day per child from Medicaid.
