Moldova's police announced 148 protest citations in August 2025; a year later its own records show 51

Moldova's General Police Inspectorate announced 148 contravention reports after the unauthorized Ilan Sor-linked protests in Chisinau on August 16, 2025. According to an investigation published on September 4, 2026 on Anticoruptie.md (source: the Center for Journalistic Investigations), a written reply from the inspectorate said 51 reports were drawn up that day, 30 of which reached the courts.
