Berlin audit office says Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg district paid €1.4 million in allowances and bonuses without proper review or justification

The Berlin Landesrechnungshof criticised the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg Bezirksamt in its annual report for personnel payments of €1.4 million that it considers unjustified. According to Der Tagesspiegel (29 November 2024), the district granted allowances 'without proper review' (ohne sachgerechte Prüfung) and paid performance bonuses with no or insufficient justification, including in the street and green space, health, social affairs and urban development offices.
