CAG audit: only 6.75% of Rs 16,449 crore Delhi government aid to local bodies in 2024-25 went to capital assets

A Comptroller and Auditor General report tabled in the Delhi Assembly in August 2026 found that Delhi's local bodies and other institutions received Rs 16,449 crore in financial assistance in 2024-25, of which only 6.75% was allocated for capital asset creation. Over 2015-16 to 2024-25, grants for capital assets were 6% to 27% of total assistance, with the rest going to routine expenditure, per PTI as reported by the Financial Express.
