From roughly 2015 to 2022, the Las Vegas City Council repeatedly denied land-use entitlements sought by developer Yohan Lowie (EHB Cos.) to redevelop the shuttered Badlands golf course, citing resident opposition. Multiple courts, including a unanimous Nevada Supreme Court ruling in April 2024, found the city had unlawfully taken the 250-acre property without just compensation.
