Investigator finds Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim misused his office and harassed a city councillor

An investigation by lawyer Jamie Pytel for Vancouver's Office of the Integrity Commissioner, dated May 12, 2026 and released May 14, 2026, found that Mayor Ken Sim misused the influence of his office and engaged in harassing conduct toward Councillor Sean Orr, arising from an April 2025 city hall news conference and a later social media post in which Sim characterized Orr as antisemitic. The investigator recommended Sim apologize to Orr; Sim publicly disagreed with the findings, and the ABC Vancouver council majority voted not to impose any sanction.
