EACC raids Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo's homes and offices over Sh382 million irregular tender and Sh18 million in self-authorized payments

Kenya's Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) raided the homes and offices of Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo and four senior county officials, investigating the irregular award of a Sh382 million tender to Spentech Engineering Limited for county office construction, in which the company allegedly received payments exceeding the value of work completed. The EACC is separately investigating whether Nyaribo irregularly authorized Sh18 million in payments to himself, comprising a Sh5 million ex-gratia payment and Sh13 million house-allowance reimbursement.
