Quintana Roo governor admits taking dozens of private flights after Reforma investigation, disputes count and denies public funds were used

An investigation by the newspaper Reforma, based on airport records and U.S. Department of Homeland Security documents, found Governor Mara Lezama and her family and political circle -- including Morena senate hopeful Gino Segura -- registered 283 private-flight movements between 2018 and 2025, with Lezama personally tied to dozens of trips to luxury destinations such as Orlando and Vail even during her lower-salaried years as mayor of Cancun.
