Ministry inspections in two Cairo districts found a building with no permit and another with floors beyond its license, and referred El Marg officials to prosecution

Unannounced inspections by Egypt's Ministry of Local Development and Environment in Cairo's El Marg and Ain Shams districts, reported by Daily News Egypt on 5 July 2026, found a building on Ismail El-Fangary Street in Ain Shams built entirely without a permit, and a building on Sidi Bilal Street licensed for a basement, ground, mezzanine and three upper floors to which the owner had added floors up to the ninth storey. Demolition of both was ordered or begun, with legal measures against those responsible.
