Milan urban-planning councillor Giancarlo Tancredi resigns after prosecutors seek his arrest in a real-estate corruption probe

In July 2025, Milan prosecutors requested precautionary custody measures against Giancarlo Tancredi, the city's urban-regeneration councillor, and real-estate developer Manfredi Catella (CEO of Coima), alleging corruption, forgery and undue inducement related to approvals for major Milan development projects. Tancredi briefly went under house arrest and resigned on 21 July 2025.
