Prosecutor opens new probe into ex-Nice mayor Christian Estrosi over alleged misuse of public funds for a 2025 political rally, following a separate 2025 investigation into Eurovision Junior financing

In late September 2025, the Nice prosecutor's office confirmed a new judicial investigation into Christian Estrosi, then mayor of Nice, over alleged misappropriation of public funds and illegal conflict of interest in the organization and financing of the 2025 'Lou Festin Nissart' political rally using Métropole resources. This followed a separate July 2025 investigation (in which Estrosi, his wife and France Télévisions president Delphine Ernotte were questioned and released without charge) into whether the city improperly financed the 2023 Junior Eurovision and Nice Climate Summit events.
